Crime Scene for Patrol
Description
Must be employed or appointed as a law enforcement officer by a State or local law enforcement agency or be a federal law enforcement officer. Fees may apply for federal and out of state law enforcement.

This course is designed to equip patrol officers with the essential skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage crime scenes upon initial response. As the first officers on scene, patrol plays a critical role in preserving evidence, establishing control, and setting the stage for a successful investigation.
Participants will learn proper crime scene protocols, including securing the scene, maintaining the chain of custody, identifying and protecting evidence, documenting observations, and working collaboratively with investigators and specialized units. Through hands-on scenarios, case studies, and best practices, officers will gain confidence in making sound decisions that uphold the integrity of the scene.
