Officer Survival I
Description
Must be employed or appointed as a law enforcement officer by a State or local law enforcement agency or be a federal law enforcement officer. Fees may apply for federal and out of state law enforcement.

This course reinforces and expands skills acquired in BLET that relate to high-risk duties. The instruction will provide students with new tactical information through a lecture and demonstration format, allowing the student to practice, in a structured and controlled environment, the newly acquired skills through reality-based training.
Outline of instruction:
A. Legal Issues on use of force
B. Arrest and handcuffing procedures
C. Respond to vehicle stop scenario exercises
D. Respond to domestic violence scenario exercises
E. Respond to building search scenario exercises
F. Respond to armed robbery scenario exercises
G. Respond to edged weapons scenario drill
H. Practical skills evaluation and written exam
Training equipment needed:
- Full duty belt gear and duty-issued handgun, two magazines (NO live ammunition)
- BDU style clothing & duty uniform clothing
- Laptop computer (if available)
- Patrol vehicle (if available)
