Overview of Child Abuse Investigations
Description
Must be employed or appointed as a law enforcement officer by a State or local law enforcement agency or be a federal law enforcement officer. Fees may apply for federal and out of state law enforcement.

This 8-hour class will focus on all the basics officers need to know about the detection, investigation, and prosecution of both sexual and physical child abuse cases. From how to spot a potentially abused or trafficked child when on a call to service to when officers can take a juvenile into custody to speaking with potential abuse victims and gathering corroborative evidence . The children in our community deserve the best investigations and prosecutions when they are being abused. This class will help officers detect more abuse, build stronger cases, and do it all in a way that minimizing trauma to the victims.
