Gunshot Wound/Downed Officer Rescue
Description
Must be employed or appointed as a law enforcement officer by a State or local law enforcement agency or be a federal law enforcement officer. Fees may apply for federal and out-of-state law enforcement.

GSW/DOR is a twenty (20) hour course designed to enhance an officer’s capabilities and survivability during and after, armed confrontations. Special emphasis will be placed on treating Gunshot Wounds/Severe Lacerations, Tactical Movement, and Downed-Officer Rescue (DOR) “live-fire” drills. During “live-fire” drills and tactical scenarios, the participant will progress towards a higher level of understanding and functioning. The following skill sets will be covered:
- Use of Tourniquets, Direct Pressure, Wound-Packing, and Compression-Bandaging
- Self-Aid/Buddy-Aid Concept/Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs)
- Downed-Officer/Citizen Rescue “Live-Fire”
