Makerspace: The Art of Sashiko (Visible Mending)

Students will learn about the history of the Japanese art of Sashiko, or visible mending, and learn the skills to mend their own articles of clothing using this sustainable, centuries-old embroidery method.

Note:

This will also be offered as a passport event for the Global Scholars program. Students may bring articles they want to mend, or just practice the stitches using materials provided in the workshop.
