Must be employed or appointed as a law enforcement officer by a State or local law enforcement agency or be a federal law enforcement officer. Fees may apply for federal and out of state law enforcement.

The Field Training Officer (FTO) Course is designed to prepare law enforcement professionals to effectively mentor, supervise, and evaluate new recruits in the field. This course provides participants with the skills, knowledge, and strategies necessary to serve as a successful FTO, ensuring that new officers are well-trained, confident, and competent in performing their duties. The course covers topics such as adult learning principles, communication techniques, the FTO role in performance evaluations, and how to create a supportive and constructive training environment.
