Bloodborne Pathogens: EMS 4202-02P
Description
This 3-hour online continuing education course provides EMS professionals with essential knowledge and up-to-date guidance on bloodborne pathogens, occupational exposure risks, and best practices for preventing illness and injury in the prehospital setting. Students will review regulatory standards, transmission pathways, protective measures, and post-exposure procedures aligned with current safety guidelines.
The course is delivered in a fully online, self-paced format, allowing participants to register at any time during the month of January and complete the material on their schedule.
Upon successful completion, students will earn 3 hours of NCOEMS-approved EMS Continuing Education credit, which will be reflected on the student’s CE transcript.

- Overview of common bloodborne pathogens and modes of transmission
- OSHA standards and regulatory requirements
- Use of PPE, engineering controls, and safe work practices
