Respiratory Emergencies (3 Hours CE Credit) – EMS 4202-15P
Description
This 3-hour online continuing education course focuses on the assessment and management of respiratory emergencies commonly encountered in the prehospital setting. EMS providers will review respiratory anatomy and physiology, recognition of life-threatening respiratory conditions, and evidence-based interventions used to support ventilation and oxygenation.
The course is delivered in a fully online, self-paced format, allowing participants to register at any time during the month of March and complete the material on their own schedule until March 30th, 2026. Upon successful completion, students will receive 3 hours of NCOEMS-approved EMS Continuing Education credit.
Topics include:
- Respiratory anatomy and physiology review
- Assessment of respiratory distress and failure
- Management of common respiratory emergencies (e.g., asthma, COPD, CHF,
pneumonia) - Airway management, oxygen therapy, and ventilation strategies
This course is intended for EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics seeking to remain current with medication knowledge and local practice standards.
